Epiphone/Gibson Guitars flew Carey and his band into Anaheim to do their closing party/showcase on Jan. 21/06 at the winter NAMM. The showcase was held at the Hilton Hotel. It was a hugely important show as NAMM is attended by over 20,000 music industry peeps. The Hilton was jam packed. Carey and his band were second on the bill playing right after Suzanne Paris and Skunk Baxter who opened the show. Carey played a one hour show.
Mick Fleetwood, Twisted Sister, Jack Cassidy and Matchbox Romance were also on the bill. It was an amazing melting pot of great music!

2005-2006 OVERVIEW
Part 1: As you will read in the summation below, 2005 was a very good year for Carey Ott. It’s 2006 and now time to give you an update on Carey’s recent and up and coming activities. The breaking news is that Carey’s song “Am I Just One” has been chosen for the January 15th episode of the hit ABC television series, Grey’s Anatomy. It has a viewer-ship of 15.7 million. Interesting enough “the color gray” is in the lyric. Also on the the cooler side of life is that Carey and his band have been selected by Epiphone/Gibson Guitars to perform at the Winter NAMM Conference on Saturday Jan. 21, 2006 for their closing night VIP soiree’. It’s exclusive by invitation only and Carey will be performing in front of 300 music industry types. What a great way to kick off 2006!
A Dualtone sampler CD of their new artists was included in approximately 15,000 issues of the December 2005 issue of respected singer/songwriters magazine, HARP. The Sampler leads off with Carey’s “I Wouldn’t Do That To You”, “Daylight”, “Am I Just One”. Carey and his band, who are: Aaron Fisher - drums/percussion, Satchel Paige Welch - guitar/vox, Kai Welch - keys/vox, and Geoff Sprung - bass/vox, begun rehearsals Sunday, Dec. 11 at their new rehearsal spot in the countryside of Nashville. Their first gig with this lineup was at 12th and Porter. It’s another of Matt Wilder’s presentations of “the Wilder side of Nashville!”
The reaction to Carey’s promotional 3 1/2 song EP has been encouraging. Dualtone made up 15,000 of these with the purpose in mind to distribute throughout the North American continent to create a foundation in anticipation of a full length release in what looks to be around Springtime 2006.
With Epiphones in hand, a brand new band, an indie label who “gets” it, and a team of determined industry pro’s Carey is set to lay down his marker!
