Fire Note Says: Singer/songwriter Carey Ott brings everything he has on his solid sophomore record Human Heart!
Album Review:
I have to respect Nashville singer/songwriter Carey Ott for his heartfelt approach and delivery on his sophomore outing aptly titled Human Heart. Ott has a smooth and likable vocal, much like a Chris Martin or David Gray that truly sells you on each and every track. Human Heart definitely captures all of his ideas here, as the record contains 20 tracks that run just over 73
minutes. A bit long, as this record would have benefited from some editing because not every track highlights Ott's talents and could have been left off for a much more concise listen. With that said, Carey Ott makes up for any wandering you may do with some great songs like the title track or the breezy "Getting Thru", which still offer a case for why you should just sit and listen to Ott's record in its entirety. His music is made for radio, TV and beyond and even though it was released late last year, Human Heart should still be sought out if you are looking for an honest and sincere release that for sure will play well through 2011 and hopefully make Carey Ott a more known quantity!
